and so it goes…

it has been a series of wreckage at my end..plans not materialized, unsuccessful exam…and so it goes..but i’m glad i still feel peaceful despite all of it…although there are times when i would just be quiet for awhile and not think…just pause..as if i freezed in that moment and like a breeze floatiing in the air..hhhmmm..i smile everytime..:) loka2 ba? it helps rejuvenate myself and think fresh, especially now, since i know that life has to move on…and so it goes..

new people i meet, new colleagues, new friends, new special someone ( sort of)..from these new breed of experiences, new opportunities arise and in between..each day…something to look forward to, to thank for and to hope for…and so it goes..

the things i do each day, becomes a routine..go to work, go to church on sunday, read my book and watch tv..eat..but surprises come in small packages..like a new tv series, a new procedure at work learned, a new book to read, hearing a good mass and a new recipe to cook!!! (hehe)…and so it goes..

time will come that i will not be able to do everything that i’m doing now…as i age and mature ( i hope ha?! hehe) my tasks will become less complicated…simple perhaps and sometimes dull..but i will never forget that every moment of silence that i make briefly, each day..i smile..:)  because as life continues…that moment is a bliss with God…and so it goes..:)

GIVE ME A MOMENT

What is a moment?
It isn’t something we measure or a measure of something.

A moment is gift.
"Can you give a moment of your time?" translates to..
"Can you give yourself for a while?"
A moment is eternity.
Have you ever heard, or said,"I lived an eternity in that moment?"
A moment is now.
It means being completely present to the person
or the opportunity before us.

Someone has said,"People with the fewest regrets are those
who take each moment as it comes, for all that is worth."
And it is a good thing that they do, because the moment will never return..
It is the best preparation for the next moment..

Charles Plumb was a US navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface - to - air missile. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist prison..
One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man came up and said,"You’re Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft KittyHawk. You were shot down!"
"How in the world did you know that?",asked Plumb.."I packed your parachute,"the man replied. Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. the man pumped his hand and said,"I guess it worked!,".  "Sure did..coz if it hadn’t, i would not be here today," Plumb assured him.
Plumb couln’t sleep that night, thinking about the man..wondering how he would look like in uniform and how many times he might have seen him and not even say,"Good Morning,How are you?,because he was a fighter pilot and the man was just a sailor.. He thought of the many hours the man spent weaving the shrouds and folding the sheets of each chute, holding in his hands the fate of someone he didn’t know..
Now, Plumb asks…"Who’s packing your chute?".
You see, everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. Plumb pointed out how many kinds of parachute he needed when his plane was shot down over enemy lines; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parachute..he called on all these supports before reaching safety..
Sometimes we are unable to notice the people who prepare our chute..in our daily challenges,we miss out returning the gratitude to those who have been kind to us…saying thank you to helpers..congratulate someone on even a smallest task done..a compliment or doing something nice for no reason…
If you happen to read this, take a moment to think about those who helped you land to safety in your daily life..and in that moment, make them feel how much you have appreciated them..that’s why, i shared this to you because i know, one way or the other…you packed my chute….thank you…

MOVE ON

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self - centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, You win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness’They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis…
It is between you and God; It never was between you and them anyway.

Thoughts are very powerful. It is thought power that creates an atmosphere in a room..The atmosphere may or may not be uplifting depending on the thoughts of those in the room. If i can control my mind and develop good positive thoughts, i can influence rather than be influenced by the atmosphere around me..do you agree? they say that the mind holds about 50,000 thoughts in a day..do you believe that what you percieve, concieve?  that when you start the day broody…it lingers throughout the day and affects the people and the environment around you?

I do…it happens…but it’s also a fact that you have a way to control you temper and every negative feeling you have..you can change that bad mood in an instant as long as you shift your thought to something more positive…i bet you don’t want to feel irritated the whole day?!?  certainly, you don’t want to feel sad for the rest of your life….what’s a better way to do?

Would it hurt if at the beginning of the day you think of something that makes you feel happy…makes you smile…looking forward to the things you want to do..how much happiness, joy you feel when someone says, "i love you" or the way you feel when a person really inspires you….it feels good right?..as if you float, can do anything, doesn’t care what people say and you don’t get mad easily…..Linger on that for the rest of the day…get the feeling…and let it flow within you…see what difference it will make to yourself…

"live each day as if you’re living onto your dream..the feeling of happiness, gratitude, love and peacefulness or contentment that flows within you can attract the things around you.each of us create our own dream and everyday is an opportunity for us to put our dreams into reality…so stay happy and positive…who knows when it will come but you know that when you perceive good things..it  will show…@s:)

Way Back Into Love

Ive been living with a shadow over head
Ive been sleepin with a cloud above my bed
Ive been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just cant seem to move on
I’ve been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just incase I ever need them again someday
Ive been setting aside time,to clear a little space in the cornners of my mind
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I cant make it through without a way back into love

I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine
Ive been searching but I just dont see the signs
I know that its out there
Theres got to be something for my soul somewhere
I’ve been looking for someone to shed some light
Not just somebody to get me through the night
I could use some direction, and I’m open to your suggestions

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I cant make it through without a way back into love
and If I open my heart again
I guess Im hopin you’ll be there for me in the end
There are moments when I dont know if its real
or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration, not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I cant make it through without a way back into love
and If I open my heart to you
Im hopin you’ll show me what to do
and if you help me to start again
you know that I’ll be there for u in the end

WHY WORRY

WHAT IS WORRY? - cousin of stress, anger and fear.

Questions of Worry:

1. if only - (past) thoughts about unhappy events you wished had never happened. the event left you with an unresolved emotional feeling and under this creates burden.

2. what if - (future) refers to thoughts about the future, about possible disagreeable thoughts that could happen which are negative.

MOST OF OUR WORRIES

  • do not happen
  • are things in the past that are more likely cannot be changed
  • things that are beyond our control
  • CAN LEAD TO STRESS - of course!!! plus ailments!

OVERCOMING WORRY

  1. become a detached observer - as if you’re just watching a movie about your life or the situation you are in..
  2. avoid catastrophizing - yung maliit na bagay na pinalalaki or looking at the future negatively
  3. be centered on the present - deal on the situation the way it was presented to you…walang sobra at bawas…just try not to assume…just focus on it..
  4. use humor - think of something positive that you can learn from the situation…remember! everything that happens to us has a reason and the main goal is to better ourselves..the person that we are!! Better ourselves in a way na hindi nanloloko sa iba ha!!!
  5. TAP the inner person in you - syempre have a silent moment kahit one minute of total silence without thinking…just to clear your mind…

SMILE - the only curve that lifts us out of adversity…

kwento ni andoy…

Somewhere in Milaon, Camarines Sur, there lived a fourth grader boy who would follow this route to school everyday: He has to cross the rugged plains and cross the dangerous highway where vehicles are recklessly driving endlessly.

Once past this highway, the boy would take a short cut, passing by the Church every morning just to say Hi to God, and faithfully say his,"Magandang umaga po" in Bicol dialect. He was faithfully being watched by a Priest who was happy to find innocence so uplifting in the morning. The priest asking…"Kamusta, Andoy? Papasok ka na?" (Speaking in their native dialect)
"Opo padre … "

He would flash his innocent grin, the priest would be touched. He was so
concerned that one day he talked to Andoy.

"From school…", he advised "Do not cross the highway, you can pass through the Church and I can accompany you to the other side of the road …that way
I can see that you are home safe…."

"Thank you po, father …"
"Bakit hindi ka pa umuwi?
Pumupunta ka ba lagi dito sa simbahan galing sa eskwela?"

"Gusto ko lang pong mag-hello sa kaibigan ko… si God."

And the priest would leave the boy to spend time beside the altar, talking to himself, but hiding behind the altar to listen to what this boy has to say to his heavenly FATHER.

May maganda akong
kaklase…
Then he stood up and calls out, "Padre, padre, tapos na po kaming mag-usap

This routine happens everyday. Andoy never fails. Father Agaton shares this
every Sunday in mass to the people in his church because he has never seen a
very pure faith and trust in God, a very positive look at negative
situations.

On Christmas day, Father Agaton was sick, and could not make it to church…
he was sent to the hospital. The church was left to 4 "manangs" who would
chant the rosary at 1000 miles per hour… would not smile and would always find fault in what you do, they were also very well versed in cursing and swearing if
irritated by other people. They were kneeling, saying their kilometric rosary when Andoy, coming from his Christmas party at school, playfully dashed in.

"Hello, God! Nandito na po ak…."

"Put..+*@*?!#!! (a curse) bata ka!! Alam mo nang may nagdadasal!! Alis!!",
one of the manangs angrily said.

Poor Andoy was so terrified, "Asan po si Father Agaton? Tutulungan po kasi
niya akong tumawid sa kalye e… at dito po sa pintuan sa likod ng simbahan
po kami dumadaan… at kung pwede ko pong i-greet si Jesus.. birthday po
kasi niya e, may regalo po ako sa kanya sana e…"

Just as he was about to get the gift out of his shirt, the manang pulled his
shirt and threw him out of the church.

"Susmaryosep! !! (does the sign of the cross fervently) Alis kang bata ka,
kung hindi matatamaan ka sa akin!!!

So the boy had no choice but to cross the dangerous side of the road in front of the church. He crossed. Then, a fast moving bus rushed in… it was a blind curve. The boy was protecting his gift inside his shirt, so he was not looking…there was so little time. He was hit, and Andoy died on the spot! A lot of people crowded the poor boy, the body of a lifeless young boy…

Suddenly, out of nowhere a tall man in a pure white shirt and pants, a face
so mild and gentle, but with eyes full of tears… He came and carried the boy in His arms. He was crying. Curious bystanders nudged the man in white,
and asked,

"Excuse me po, kamag-anak po ba kayo ng bata? Kilala po ba ninyo itong
batang ito?"

The man in white, His face mourning and in agony, looked up and answered,
"Matalik ko siyang kaibigan…" was all he said. He took the badly wrapped
gift in the bloody chest of the lifeless boy,and placed it near His heart.

He stood up and carried the boy away and they both disappeared in sight. The
crowd was curious…

That night, Father Agaton learned of the shocking news. He visited the
house, and wanted to verify about the man in white. He consulted the parents
of Andoy.

And the father of the boy continued, "at alam po ninyo, Padre… ang sarap

simbahan araw-araw? Sigurado po akong alam ninyo dahil nandoon po kayo
araw-araw, maliban noong na-ospital kayo…"

Father Agaton suddenly felt the tears welling in his eyes, with trembling
knees, he murmurred, " … He was talking to no one …. but.. GOD…."

Should this story be true or fictitious, don’t you think we need to have the
same faith and love for God as Andoy does?

We all want to live in a happy home.
It need not be a sprawling mansion by the sea, a towering castle on a mountain
or the most spectacular penthouse in the city. It should just approximate
our ideal of a comfortable abode that would provide us the space, atmosphere,
and conveniences to help us live, rest, relax, grow, and evolve into the
best that we can be.

But what makes a home happy? Certainly,
not the exclusivity of its address, the number of its parking slots or
the size of its swimming pool. It’s the people living in it that make
a home happy. Take a happy heart, put it anywhere, and it will build a
happy home. A family whose members love and value each other would surely
create a happy nest.

Want to turn your house into a happy
home? Here are some important factors to consider:

• Light. A good place to live in should
be well lighted. As much natural lighting as possible should enter the
space to be energy- and cost-efficient. Harsh sunlight can be controlled
with curtains, which control too much light and heat. Proper electrical
lighting must be installed with dimming controls to set the desired brightness
and mood. Study areas should be amply lighted for comfortable reading.

• Ventilation. A healthy home requires
good air ventilation. Natural ventilation through windows and air ducts
is highly recommended; air-conditioning should be considered in hot and
polluted areas. Electric fans provide wind motion for better air circulation.
Comfortable heating should be provided during the cold season.

• Love. Home is where the heart is,
that’s why love is one of the most important factors in building a happy
home. A loving and understanding heart turns a house into a truly happy
home. A listening ear, caring arms, comforting words, and inspiring support
complete the picture.

• Food. Home is where the heart is,
and the easiest way to the heart is through the stomach. The quality and
quantity of food served determine the well-being and health of the inhabitants
of a house. Care should be taken to make eating pleasurable and healthy.
Emphasis should be given to whole, fresh, unprocessed foods as well as
fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

• Comfort and convenience. A home is
a haven where people turn to find comfort, convenience, and solace from
the pressures of everyday living. It should have comfortable beds, clean
toilets, good linen and towels, and the necessary electrical appliances
that help make life easy and convenient. Organization ensures that whatever
is needed is easily located and reached. Fragile and costly items such
as antiques and objets d’art should be placed where they would not be
exposed to possible damage and breakage by children.

• Music. A happy home is filled with
music, songs, and the sound of laughter. Encourage children to sing and
play musical instruments. You can pipe in background music to add zest
to your day, or set a relaxed mood at night. Encourage these sounds in
your home: the rustle of wind caressing the trees, bird chirps, and the
calming gurgle of a water fountain. Insulate your home from disturbing
and unwanted noise.

• Color. The paint color on the walls
of your rooms determines the character and spatial quality of that area.
Choose color schemes and combinations that best contribute to the effect
you want. Colors on curtains, paintings, and accessories can further enhance
a room. You can also add color through flowers and imaginative lighting.

• Art. The paintings and art frames
you hang on your walls and the décor pieces you display say much about
you. They embody your artistic choices and preferences. Art is a wonderful
way of enhancing your life and beautifying your home, and can be a great
investment, too.

• Educational atmosphere. Fill your
home with books, publications, and digital programs that encourage learning
and quench the thirst for knowledge. Make learning fun. Guide young people
into doing hobbies that they will find enjoyable and profitable. Keep exploring
new things to stimulate the mind and encourage creativity among family
members.

• Privacy and security. People retreat
to their homes for the personal and emotional privacy they seek. A home
should be private and secure. It should be safe from outside harm as well
as calamities like fire, earthquake, floods, etc. Buying an insurance to
protect property is one way of having psychological security in case of
unforeseen events.

• Financial stability. Financial insecurity
is one great cause of stress and unhappiness. Studies have shown that many
marital problems stem from financial difficulties and disagreements. Endeavor
towards having financial stability to assure your home and family of continuous
abundance and financial independence.

• Spiritual and moral values. The home
is where a child’s spirituality and moral values are molded and formed.
Parental guidance and teaching by example are necessary to ensure morally,
psychologically, and spiritually healthy children. A home should not only
furnish space for living and having good times but provide a sanctuary
for reflection and meditation for the members of the family as well

Sow a habit, reap a character,
